Most of the houses this side of the Cooks River were built long before anyone owned a three-seater couch. Moving one out of a Victorian terrace or a workers cottage is a craft, and it is the job we do most.
What the job includes
- A measure-first plan. Before moving day we ask about the wide pieces and the narrow points: the hall, the stair turn, the back door. Anything that will not walk out gets a plan, not a shove.
- Wrapping as standard. Blankets and straps on furniture, paper before blankets on anything with a finish worth keeping. Doorframes and banisters get padded where the carry is tight.
- A crew that suits the house. For a two or three bedroom terrace that is usually 3 movers and 1 truck at $350 an hour: one carrying, one wrapping, one building the load so nothing shifts on the drive.

How the day runs
We confirm the plan on the phone before we book you in. On the day the crew walks the house first, agrees the carry order with you, wraps the big pieces where they stand, then loads heaviest first. At the other end everything lands in the room you name, not in a pile at the front door.
Two to three bedroom terrace or house: 3 movers + 1 truck, $350 an hour. Bigger homes or a move with two pick-ups run better as 4 movers + 2 trucks at $500 an hour, because two trucks halve the trips. Billed hourly either way.
Questions terrace owners ask
The couch came in through the window years ago. Can you get it out?
Usually, yes, and the honest answer starts with a tape measure. Feet come off, doors come off their hinges if they need to, and if the window really is the only way we will tell you before the day what that involves rather than discovering it at hour three.
My street never has a free space. How does the truck work?
It is a solvable piece of the plan. Sometimes the answer is a loading zone around the corner, sometimes it is reserving the kerb space out front with your own vehicles the night before. We work it out with you beforehand so the clock does not run while a driver circles the block.
Do you move washing machines and fridges too?
Yes. Doors taped, drum braced where the manual calls for it, trolleyed upright. Tell us in the enquiry so the right trolley is on the truck.
