Questions people ask us
The answers are the same ones we give on the phone. If yours is not here, put it in the enquiry and it gets answered when we call you back.
What do you charge?
Three hourly rates, published on the rate board: $250 an hour for 2 movers and 1 truck, $350 for 3 movers and 1 truck, $500 for 4 movers and 2 trucks. Billing is by the hour. There are no other prices on this site because there are no other prices.
How do I get an actual quote?
Send the enquiry form with the real shape of the move: rooms, stairs or lift, parking at both ends, and anything heavy or odd. A person reads it and phones you back with the crew size, the rate and an honest estimate of hours. The better the enquiry, the straighter the estimate.
Where is your phone number?
Deliberately unpublished. The written enquiry is genuinely better for you: it captures the stairs, the dates and the piano before anyone talks numbers, so the estimate you hear on the phone is grounded in your actual move, not a guess. You leave your number, we ring you.
Are the movers insured?
Yes, the crews that carry out these moves work insured, and apartment or warehouse buildings that need insurance paperwork for a lift booking can have it as part of confirming the job. Mention the building's requirements in your enquiry.
Can you move a piano?
Upright pianos, yes: piano trolley, straps, two movers on the carry, never rushed. Grand pianos and anything needing a crane are specialist rigging work, and we will say so honestly rather than have a go.
What about plants?
A Marrickville speciality. Plants ride upright in open crates, loaded last and unloaded first, with nothing draped over the leaves. Big terracotta pots get wrapped like the fragile things they are.
Do you do small moves? One item?
Yes. A single wardrobe across the suburb is still a 2 movers + 1 truck job at $250 an hour, and short jobs bill short. Describe it in the enquiry; the answer you get is a straight one about what it takes.
Do you handle interstate moves?
We take interstate enquiries, yes. They are planned differently from local hourly work, so put the destination and rough dates in the enquiry and we will talk through how it would run and what it involves.
Can you store things between homes?
If your dates do not line up, say so in the enquiry. Between-homes gaps are common and there are honest ways to bridge them; we will lay out the options for your situation when we call.
When should I book?
As soon as your dates firm up. End-of-month weekends fill first, in Marrickville like everywhere. A weekday mid-month move is the easiest booking to get and often the calmest day to have.
What areas do you cover?
Marrickville is home ground, and the borders are working territory: Dulwich Hill, Sydenham, Tempe, Petersham, Stanmore, Enmore, St Peters, Lewisham, Hurlstone Park and the rest of the Inner West. The areas pages cover what moving in each is like.
Tell us about the move
Rooms, stairs, the piano, the plants. Send it through the form and we phone you back with a straight answer on crew, truck and rate.
